Beijing will build another 1,400 services businesses in 2018 to provide convenience for citizens, said Yan Ligang, director of Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce on a meeting on January 16, 2018.
According to report of Beijing Morning Post, this year, 45 percent of the 1,400 service businesses will be built in six core districts with the focus on upgrading.
The rest 55 percent will fill the void in other districts. In addition, ten new community business complexes for citizens’convenience will be built.
In 2018, Beijing will also promote the system construction of agricultural products markets for the public interest, expedite construction and upgrade of agricultural products logistics centers, and build and improve 500 greengrocers, Yan said.
At the same time, Beijing will remove or upgrade 159 regional specialized markets and 17 specialized logistics centers within the Third Ring Road in 2018, according to Yan.
Since 2015, Beijing has removed 1,032 markets and 106 logistics centers, as they were included in the non-capital functions.
In 2017, Beijing removed 55 logistics centers and 241 markets, including 12 in Beijing Zoo area, 45 in Dahongmen area as well as Tianyi market.
Removing non-capital functions and improving urban management go hand by hand, amid the special program of removing non-capital functions and improving urban management.
Beijing built and upgraded 1,210 businesses spots including greengrocers and convenient stores in 2017, on the principle of “removing an old one and building a new one”, one fourth of which were newly built to fill the blank of the removed.
